The Fish Feast is held on the second Sunday of May, in the picturesque scenario of the Camogli Harbor. This event, which is organized by the local Tourist Board along with the patronage of the City Community, is very famous both in Italy and abroad, thus attracting many interested visitors. The event started as a spontaneous gesture by some "camoglini" who decided, on 1952, to offer to visitors their delicious fried fish. Since then, this pleasing tradition has been transformed as an significant spreading of the touristic image of Camogli. The logo of the Feast is the frying pan where the fish is cooked and right after, ditributed to the visiting crowd. The activity is carried out thanks to the many volunteers who offer their service so as to obtain a successful event. The Feast is linked to the centennial celebration of Saint Fortunate, protector of the fishermen: on the eve night, after the religious celebration and the procession of the Saint's ark, on the beach the traditionals bonfires are burnt. They are shaped as sculptures by the "camoglini" living in the Porto and Pinetto quarters. The next Feast is planned for May 8th.
